Disney World!!

We are back! Man, did we have fun!

Saturday evening we dropped of Calli at PetSmart's "PetHotel" for her first ever boarding stay. I was so nervous at how she was going to do. Since she is a rescue (we got her from a shelter) I hoped that she didn't have flashbacks of being abandoned by her previous owners. As we are leaving Christopher stoicilly looks and Jonathan and I and says "Well, guess we'll never see her again." Jon and I start roaring with laughter! I had to re-explain how boarding a dog works. Ah, how a child's mind works!!

Sunday we left and headed for Louisiana to see my Dad. We arrived just in time to make it to the Louisiana Gator Festival! Woo hoo! (insert banjo theme song here!) Christopher got to hold a ball python (*Shudder*) and pet (can you pet a snake?) an albino python. It felt like the drive from Louisiana to Disney took FOOOOOOOOOREVER. However, we finally arrived!

We checked into our hotel (All Star Music) and went straight to Downtown Disney for dinner at Planet Hollywood. We walked around and did a little shopping. Went to the Lego store and the largest Disney store. This is where Christopher fell in love with his new favorite Disney character, Figaro. Yes, the cat from "Pinocchio" a.k.a the most obscure, difficult to find toy (other than the stuffed animal we bought)character that Disney makes!!

Our first Disney day was spent at Hollywood Studios. Our first ride was Tower of Terror *insert evil laugh here*! Christopher didn't love it but he didn't hate it either. In fact, his exact words were "that was the worst ride I've ever been on!" He enjoyed the "Indiana Jones Stunt Show" and the "Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show" and all the other attractions that Hollywood Studios had to offer. We went to dinner at Chef Mickey's. Somebody *cough cough JONATHAN cough cough* told them it was my birthday so a cupcake and song was in order. :D Christopher was able to meet all the characters. It was so cute to see the look on his face!

Our second day was spent at the most visit theme park in the world...The Magic Kingdom. Unfortunately, due to it's size we were only able to accomplish half of it and we were there for almost 9 hours!! Christopher's favorite rides were Big Thunder Railroad and Splash Mountain. I think we might have a thrill seeker on our hands! He was also able to meet Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. He was very excited while we were in line, however, once he went up there to see them he wasn't too impressed. It was pretty funny. He enjoyed seeing "The Pirates of the Caribbean" and riding on the Magic Kingdom Railway. We also got to meet none other than Buzz Lightyear!! I couldn't believe how little The Magic Kingdom had changed over the years. We went to dinner at "The Whispering Canyon" in the Wilderness Lodge Resort. Apparently the name of this restaurant is a funny little play on words because they do the exact opposite of whisper here!! We sat down and Christopher noticed he had no crayons for his children's menu. We asked the waiter for some and he said "no problem!" He then turns to the entire restaurant and yells "I NEED 1 CRAYON FROM EVERY TABLE! 1 CRAYON FROM EVERY TABLE PLEASE!!" Before we know it, we have about 65 crayons! It was hysterical! The table next to us mistakenly asked for ketchup, once they asked they ended up with about 15 bottles.

Our third day was spent at Epcot. I was most excited to see how Jonathan was going to like it. He loved it!! I was glad! Christopher was a little bored here though. There aren't too many rides. We went on "Soarin'" which was amazing! That was the first time I had gone on it and we loved it! It's like you are in a hang-glider riding over California. We did "GM Test Track" which was awesome. We noticed a girl (appeared to be about 10) getting off the ride. She was crying, hysterically, tears streaming down her face. Jonathan and I look at each other and are like "hmmmm perhaps we shouldn't do this even though he met the height requirement" because the ride gets up to 65 mph. We decide to go on it anyway. We go on he LOVES it. We are getting off and he looks at us and says "do they have anything that goes faster?" We just laughed. What a silly goose.

Our final day started at the Polynesian having breakfast with Lilo & Stitch. It was so much fun! We then went the Magic Kingdom to finish what we couldn't accomplish on Wednesday. We thought it was a nice way to end our trip.

Saturday morning we headed to Ocala to see Jonathan's Grandmother and Aunt (he hadn't seen them in over 8 yrs). We had a great day with them. It was nice to meet them and hang out with his family. Christopher really loved his Auntie Lou's house and can't wait to go back. He especially loved her cat, Doofus. We begrudgingly headed home. It was so nice to sleep in our own beds!!!
